Disney Sued Over Alleged On-Set Abuse of Child Star Raquel Lee Bolleau

Former child actress Raquel Lee Bolleau has filed a lawsuit against The Walt Disney Company, alleging she was sexually assaulted and harassed on the set of the 2001 Disney Channel Original Movie 'The Poof Point' when she was just 14 years old.

The lawsuit claims that an adult male employee of Disney repeatedly raped and sexually abused Bolleau over several weeks, and also supplied her with alcohol. The documents state that both Disney and the film's director, Neal Israel, instructed Bolleau to 'bond with, get close to and trust' this person.

The suit alleges that Disney authorized a culture of sexual harassment on set, permitting jokes, commentary, fondling, and excessive touching. It also claims that no one from Disney attempted to curb the behavior of the male employee, who made sexually explicit comments around children.

Bolleau's lawyers, Douglas Wigdor and Jane Kim, stated in a message that 'countless child actors have come forward to bravely share their experiences of abuse by adults in entertainment.' They emphasized that this conduct is 'inexcusable' and those involved must be held accountable.
