Disney Taps Into TikTok's Short-Form Magic with New Content Partnership
The Walt Disney Company has partnered with TikTok to integrate short-form video sharing on its Disney+ application. Under this agreement, fans will be able to create and share videos featuring iconic characters from Disney's vast library, including Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and FX.
The deal allows creators to opt-in to a program that makes their content appear on both TikTok and a new section called Verts on Disney+. To aid in creating these clips, TikTok creators will have access to official assets from hundreds of films and television series within the Disney library.
Disney's goal is to encourage viewers to spend more time exploring different story formats across its app. By leveraging social media engagement, the company aims to turn casual scrolling into dedicated viewing hours.
