FAA Orders Inspections for Cracks in 470 Boeing 737 Max Aircraft
The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has ordered inspections for cracks in some 470 Boeing 737 Max aircraft. The move comes after similar issues were found on older 737NG models, which are the predecessors of the 737 Max.
No cracks have been observed in the 737 Max fleet so far, but the FAA is taking a precautionary measure by extending inspections to these newer models due to similarities in design and manufacturing processes.
The inspection order applies to certain 737-8, 737-9, and 737-8200 Max aircraft, specifically targeting cracks in one corner of the forward door. The order takes effect on September 10, with the goal of ensuring the structural integrity of these aircraft.
