Disney Team Unveils Restored Wonder: Behind the Scenes of Alice in Wonderland's 75th Anniversary Magic
The Walt Disney Studios' Restoration and Library Management department is responsible for restoring classic Disney films, including the recently restored version of Alice in Wonderland. The team, led by Kevin, Director of Restoration and Library Management, works behind the scenes to preserve the magic of these beloved classics.
The restoration process involves meticulous research, reviewing original prints and concept art, and consulting with experts to ensure accuracy and authenticity. In the case of Alice in Wonderland, a long-serving Disney artist who worked on the original production reviewed every shot to ensure color accuracy and maintained the original Production Designer's vision.
Associate Project Manager Melissa oversaw much of the day-to-day restoration work, which involved scanning and preparing localization film assets for the final restored version. The team was careful to ensure that fans would be happy with the final result, going to great lengths to preserve the artistic integrity of the original film.
