Disney Unveils Ambitious Slate of Theme Park Attractions
Disney enthusiasts were treated to a plethora of announcements and first looks at upcoming theme park attractions during their massive fan convention, D23. One of the most exciting reveals was the new land called Villains Land, which is set to open at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World.
Villians Land will be inspired by classic antagonists from Walt Disney Animation Studios films and feature guardian trees that are described as 'clay dimensional sketches' and 'early explorations.' Although their final design could change, they seem to be inspired by the foreboding woods in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
Other notable announcements included a reimagined version of Space Mountain at Tokyo Disneyland, which will feature a new title, Space Mountain: Earthrise, and is set to open in 2027. Disney also revealed a combination log flume and dark ride called The Lion King Log Flume coming to Disney Adventure World at Disneyland Paris.
The theme park giant also announced several other projects, including Piston Peak National Park, a new area themed to a mountainous region set in the world of Pixar's Cars. This will feature a family-friendly outdoor ride starring Miss Fritter and a thrill ride emulating the feeling of off-roading.
