Boeing Whistleblower John Barnett's Mysterious Death: Suicidal or Something More?
John Barnett, a Boeing quality manager for over 30 years, died in March 2024 at the age of 62. Barnett had been a key witness in a lawsuit against Boeing after he blew the whistle on safety concerns.
Barnett's death was initially met with speculation that he may have been murdered by a hitman hired by Boeing. However, an investigation by the Charleston Police Department concluded that his death was a suicide due to stress.
The police found no evidence of foul play and Barnett's own gun was used in the incident. A notebook belonging to Barnett was also found with a note saying 'I can't do this any longer' and criticizing Boeing.
Barnett's family has disputed the official cause of death, with his mother saying she still had 'a lot of unanswered questions.'
