Disney Unveils Upcoming Projects at San Diego Comic-Con Málaga 2026
San Diego Comic-Con Málaga 2026 brought thousands of fans together in Spain for exclusive previews of upcoming Walt Disney Company projects. Held at FYCMA in Málaga, the event showcased a range of highly anticipated titles, including Marvel’s new Disney+ series VisionQuest, set to debut on October 14. The panel featured actor Paul Bettany, who introduced the first 22 minutes of the series' premiere episode, concluding the trilogy that began with WandaVision and continued with Agatha All Along.
Attendees also got a surprise appearance from Anthony Mackie, David Harbour, and Winston Duke, who discussed the upcoming film Avengers: Doomsday. The directors, Anthony and Joe Russo, sent a recorded message, followed by an extended trailer screening. Walt Disney Animation Studios unveiled footage from Hexed, an animated film about a teenage girl discovering magical abilities, set for release on November 25, 2026.
Pixar’s Gatto, a film about a black cat named Nero, was also screened, with a release date set for March 5, 2027. Fans were treated to a sneak peek of Ice Age: Boiling Point, scheduled for February 5, 2027. Additionally, the cast and director of the survival thriller Whalefall discussed the film, which is based on a novel about a young man’s encounter with a massive sperm whale.
This year’s Comic-Con Málaga was significantly larger than its inaugural edition, featuring expanded exhibition space, additional programming, and more than 300 hours of content. The event, held from October 1 to October 4, marked the first official expansion of San Diego Comic-Con outside the United States.
