The annual National Day of Service and Remembrance was marked by the 'Disney Voluntears' group, who packed meals for charity at the Intrepid Museum in Manhattan. The event aimed to honor the spirit of unity and service that arose after the 9-11 attacks.

The idea to make September 11 a day of service was first conceived in 2002 as a way to recognize the outpouring of support following the terrorist attacks.

Among those participating were Disney CEO Josh D'Amaro, Debra OConnell, Chairman of Disney Entertainment Television, Kevin Martinez of ESPN, and Almin Karamehmedovic of ABC News. The event saw volunteers come together to prepare meals for charity in a show of solidarity and community service.
