Disney World Adds Holiday Overlays to Three Popular Rides
Disney World is gearing up for the holiday season with exciting new overlays on three of its popular rides. Starting November 4, 2026, and running through January 6, 2027, the Alien Swirling Saucers attraction in Disney’s Hollywood Studios will feature a festive soundtrack. The intergalactic ride will be enhanced with holiday-themed music, including tracks like “Toyland,” “Deck the Halls,” “Swirling, Swirling Saucers,” and “Joy To The Swirl,” accompanied by Christmas-colored lights at night.
Another major overlay will take place at Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT, beginning November 25, 2026. For the holiday season, the attraction’s regular soundtrack will be replaced with festive tunes such as “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” by Andy Williams, “Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24” by Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and “Christmas Wrapping” by The Waitresses. This change will make it easier for guests to hear all three songs during their ride.
Finally, the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets will transform into “Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets: Obligatory Holiday Overlay” from November 4, 2026, through January 6, 2027. The entire experience will be festive, with holiday music playing in the courtyard and a redesigned pre-show featuring The Muppets preparing for a holiday spectacular. Riders will hear one of four holiday songs, with three confirmed: “Holiday Road” by The Electric Mayhem, “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” by The Electric Mayhem, and “Silver Bells” by The Electric Mayhem featuring Cyndi Lauper.
Disney enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating these holiday-themed overlays, which promise to add extra cheer to the park experience during the busiest time of the year.
