Disney World Imposes New Holiday Rules for 2026 Christmas Season
Disney World is introducing new rules for the 2026 Christmas season that may impact visitors' plans. First, holiday decorations at the resorts will be limited to guests staying there or those with valid dining reservations. The iconic gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa will not return, replaced by smaller displays. Other resorts will maintain their traditional gingerbread displays.
Attendees may need to purchase separate tickets for nighttime park experiences due to separately ticketed Christmas parties. Magic Kingdom will host Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and Hollywood Studios will hold Jollywood Nights. The parks will close early on these days, requiring guests to buy both a day ticket and a party ticket if they wish to spend a full day in the parks.
Transportation and mobile ordering will also see changes. Disney Springs buses and boats will now require guests to show a valid hotel or dining reservation to board. Additionally, mobile ordering via the My Disney Experience app may be restricted to resort guests during peak seasons, although this has yet to be confirmed for the holidays.
Finally, the Polynesian Resort’s beach, known for its prime view of Magic Kingdom fireworks, may be restricted to hotel guests only. This could affect visitors who typically monorail hop or walk over from other resorts to watch the fireworks.
