Disney World Marks 55 Years with New Attractions and Celebrations
October marks the 55th anniversary of Walt Disney World, which opened its doors to guests on October 1, 1971. The milestone is significant as it was a major expansion of the Disney brand beyond California's Disneyland. To commemorate this occasion, Disney has introduced a new logo, and various merchandise sporting this design will be available throughout the resort.
One of the most anticipated openings in October is Hurly-Burly at Disney's BoardWalk. This vintage-inspired lounge promises to bring an old-school vaudeville vibe back to life with its menu featuring classic cocktails and light bites. Entertainment options will range from hosted activities for families during the day to live music and nightlife in the evenings.
The EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival continues through November 21, with four new Global Marketplaces opening on October 2: Coastal Eats, Earth Eats, India, and The Alps. These additions join the already impressive lineup of festival favorites, including The Wedge (Hosted by Dairy Does More), which opened in September.
