Disney World Prepares for Railroad and Tiana's Bayou Adventure Refurbishments
The Walt Disney World Railroad and Tiana's Bayou Adventure will undergo separate refurbishments at Magic Kingdom this fall. The railroad is scheduled to close on September 28, 2026, with a return date expected in November. Meanwhile, Tiana's Bayou Adventure will begin its refurbishment on November 2, with an expected reopening in December.
The railroad closure coincides with ongoing construction related to Piston Peak National Park and Villains Land expansion plans. Although the attraction itself won't be available during this time, parts of it will remain accessible for guests watching parades and fireworks at Main Street Train Station or participating in Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party activities at Storybook Circus Station.
The timing of these refurbishments could impact holiday vacations. Both attractions may overlap in unavailability during part of November, although Disney hasn't provided an exact reopening date for the railroad. Guests planning visits around this time should be aware that both Tiana's Bayou Adventure and the Walt Disney World Railroad might not be available.
