Disney World Railroad Closed for Refurbishment Through October

The Walt Disney World Railroad at Magic Kingdom has been temporarily closed for refurbishment from September 28 to October 29, 2026. This isn't the first time the train has been impacted by construction; it's been running as a shuttle between Main Street and Fantasyland since July 7, 2025.

The full loop will eventually return once Cars and Disney Villains Land are completed in Frontierland. In the meantime, guests can expect to walk between Main Street and Fantasyland instead of relying on the train.

This closure is just one of several temporary closures at Walt Disney World right now, including Typhoon Lagoon's ongoing refurbishment and Carousel of Progress being unavailable until late spring 2027.
