Disney World raises prices on basic food and drinks across parks
Disney World has quietly raised prices on some of its most basic food and drink items across all parks, effective immediately. The hike affects everyday purchases like fountain drinks, coffee, popcorn, and chicken strips, making the already expensive theme park experience even costlier for families.
According to an October 6 price comparison, regular popcorn jumped from $5.99 to $6.99, while a two-piece chicken strip order increased from $8.99 to $9.49. Four-piece orders climbed from $10.99 to $11.99. Fountain beverages, coffee, and hot cocoa saw a 20-cent increase to $4.99, though some items like bottled soda and vitaminwater remained unchanged at $5.50.
The impact of these small increases can add up quickly for families. A single dollar increase on popcorn may seem minor, but when multiplied across multiple meals, park days, and family members, the costs can become significant. For budget-conscious visitors relying on quick-service meals, these price hikes leave fewer options to cut expenses.
Not all snacks saw price increases. Mickey pretzels, ice cream bars, and souvenir popcorn buckets remained unchanged at $8.49, $6.49, and $14.29 respectively. Refills for popcorn buckets stayed at $2.49. Guests are advised to check current menus before their trips to plan their food budgets accordingly.
