Disney World's Magic Kingdom Road Network Undergoes Major Shakeup

Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom has seen significant changes to its transportation infrastructure in recent years, and the latest update is now open for drivers. A new stretch of Floridian Way, part of a broader roadway improvement project called Phase III of the World Drive North project, has officially opened to traffic.

The new road runs between the Magic Kingdom parking lot and the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa entrance, but all drivers are currently using what will eventually become the southbound lanes. The northbound lanes remain under construction, with concrete barriers and traffic cones still in place. Temporary connector roads have been set up to direct guests to the Grand Floridian, the Wedding Pavilion, and Island Tower at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort.

Two of three planned roundabouts are already complete, located outside the Grand Floridian. The third will be built near the Magic Kingdom parking lot and connect directly to one of the permanent roundabouts once finished. This project is expected to wrap up by late 2027.
