Disneyland Raises Ticket Prices but Spare Magic Key Holders
Disney fans on both coasts are facing higher prices as the company raises ticket and service costs. At Disneyland Resort, select one-day ticket prices have increased by $5 for Tiers 1 through 4, while the lowest and highest-priced tickets remain unchanged at $104 and $224, respectively. The Lightning Lane Multi Pass has also seen a slight increase, now costing $35 if purchased in advance or $38 if bought on the day of the visit.
One notable difference between Disneyland and Disney World is that Magic Key holders at Disneyland have avoided a price increase this time. In contrast, Disney World's Annual Passholders, particularly those with the top-tier Disney Incredi-Pass, have seen a substantial increase of $120, bringing the price to $1,749. This marks a significant rise from the pass's debut price of $1,299 in 2021, representing a 34% increase over five years.
The pricing changes at Disneyland also include adjustments to the tiered pricing system, with more dates shifting into the middle tiers. This means guests may find fewer dates at the extreme ends of the pricing scale, potentially affecting those planning around the least expensive days. While Disneyland's most frequent visitors have been spared another price hike, the overall trend of increasing costs for theme park vacations continues.
The contrast between the two Disney resorts highlights different approaches to pricing. Disneyland's decision to leave Magic Key prices unchanged, while still raising other costs, provides some relief for its most loyal visitors. Meanwhile, Disney World's Annual Passholders face another significant financial burden, which could influence their decision to renew.
