Disney's 2027 Expansion Chaos: Visitors Face Dilemma Over Opening Dates
Walt Disney World visitors are facing an unusual problem as they plan their vacations for 2027. The resort is introducing major additions across multiple parks, but not all of them will be ready at the same time.
The biggest addition to Animal Kingdom is Tropical Americas, which promises to bring a new and exciting experience to guests. However, it won't be alone in the spotlight - Disney's Hollywood Studios is also getting a new land called Monstropolis, inspired by Monsters, Inc.
But here's the catch: Monstropolis will open in phases, with its headline attraction not expected to be ready for the initial opening. Meanwhile, Magic Kingdom's Carousel of Progress is undergoing a major overhaul and won't reopen until late spring 2027.
Disney Lakeshore Lodge, a new 967-room resort, is scheduled to open on July 1, 2027, near Disney's Wilderness Lodge and Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. This means that guests will have to weigh the pros and cons of visiting early or waiting until later in the year.
