Disney's New Magnet Reward Raises Questions About Upcoming Price Hikes
Walt Disney World has introduced a new incentive for Annual Passholders to renew their passes. The incentive is a special edition Mickey Mouse magnet, featuring Mickey in turn-of-the-century clothing inspired by Main Street, U.S.A.
The magnet will be mailed directly to eligible Passholders after they renew their passes, with a valid U.S. mailing address connected to their MyDisney account. This is a change from previous years, where magnets were typically available for pickup at designated locations within the parks during limited distribution windows.
This development comes at an interesting time for Annual Passholders, as October has become a month of price increases in recent years. In 2023, Disney raised prices in October, followed by another increase in 2024 and again in 2025. The most recent increase saw prices rise between $20 and $80 depending on the pass tier.
The new magnet is specifically tied to renewal, with Passholders who renew their passes in September 2026 or later being eligible for the free gift. This has led some to wonder if another price increase is imminent, particularly given Disney's history of raising prices in October.
