Disney's Steakhouse 71 Closes for Unplanned Maintenance
Disney's Contemporary Resort experienced an unexpected closure of its Steakhouse 71 restaurant on September 6, leaving guests with canceled reservations. According to Disney, the reason for the closure was 'unplanned maintenance,' which has since been resolved. The restaurant had reopened by the time this information came to light.
Steakhouse 71, located inside the Contemporary Resort, serves breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. Its name references the year Walt Disney World officially opened its doors in Central Florida. Guests who had reservations at Steakhouse 71 reported that their tables were canceled without warning.
The closure caused disruption to guests' plans, as dining reservations often form the backbone of a Disney vacation itinerary. The Contemporary Resort is currently undergoing an exterior refurbishment project, which began in September 2024 and is expected to run through late 2027.
