This week marks several significant milestones in Disney's rich history. One of the most notable is the 35th anniversary of Darkwing Duck, which premiered in syndication on September 6, 1991. The cartoon remains a fan favorite among all ages and is one of legendary voice actor Jim Cummings' most well-known projects.

Another significant event occurred on September 7, 2002, when Disney's One Saturday Morning aired its final broadcast. This marked the end of an era for children's programming under the Disney umbrella.

The week also saw the premiere of several other notable Disney shows and events. On September 8, 1995, Timon & Pumbaa debuted in syndication, while Teacher's Pet made its debut on ABC on September 9, 2000.

Tragedy struck on September 11, 2001, when Disneyland and Walt Disney World temporarily closed due to the 9/11 attacks. It was a somber reminder of the impact that global events can have on our daily lives.

In a more positive note, Hong Kong Disneyland opened its doors to visitors for the first time on September 12, 2005.
