Dividend Champions Lead the Way in August
August is proving to be a month for dividend stocks as investors seek reliable returns. Among those, five companies stand out for their long history of consistent payouts and growth. Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) tops the list with its 64th consecutive year of dividend increases. Its quarterly payout has been raised to $1.34 per share, and revenue in Q1 2026 reached a record high of $24.06B.
Procter & Gamble (PG), another stalwart in this group, boasts an impressive 70-year streak of dividend growth. While it missed expectations in its last quarter, management plans to return around $10B in dividends and buybacks in FY2027. Coca-Cola (KO) also delivered strong results, with revenue and adjusted EPS beating estimates.
PepsiCo (PEP), which offers the highest yield at 4.09%, stepped up its quarterly payout to a record high of $1.48 per share. McDonald's (MCD), despite being down 9.63% YTD, remains a dividend champion with a roughly 50-year increase streak intact.
While each stock has its risks, they collectively offer a rare mix of yield, dividend safety, and multi-decade discipline. Investors positioning for fall may find these companies attractive due to their proven track record.
