Michael Goessling, an adopted Missouri man, received a life-changing discovery when he found out his biological father was none other than Michael McDonald, the legendary lead singer of The Doobie Brothers.

Goessling's journey began when he and his half-brother submitted their DNA to 23andMe. Within 36 hours, they matched as siblings, sparking a chain reaction that would ultimately reveal Goessling's biological father.

The connection was made through the service, which allowed Goessling to reach out to his birth mother and eventually meet her in person on his 58th birthday.

It wasn't until later, when he met his biological father over the phone, that he discovered who his dad truly was. When asked if he was Michael McDonald, the singer replied with a sheepish 'Yeah, I'm afraid so.'
