Dominican Government Aims to Train One Million Citizens in Artificial Intelligence

The Dominican Government has launched the 'Intelligent Dominican Republic' program, aiming to train one million citizens in the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

According to President Luis Abinader, the initiative seeks to optimize job skills, increase productivity, and generate new opportunities for Dominicans. He emphasized that the goal is not to turn a million people into programmers, but rather to help them improve their existing skills.

The program will offer training from basic levels to specializations in automation, data analysis, and programming, with international certifications backed by companies like Amazon, Google, Cisco, and Microsoft. The training pathways will be tailored to different professions and sectors, and a technological infrastructure will be designed to reach the entire country.

The Minister of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza, highlighted that AI is no longer a technology of the future, but a reality transforming the way citizens work, learn, and solve problems. He added that the Dominican Republic has embraced this challenge with a national vision through the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy (ENIA).
