Dow Jones Surges Over 200 Points as US Stocks Trade Higher
The Dow Jones Industrial Average surged over 200 points on Monday, reaching an intraday high of 51,991.83.
According to market data, the Dow traded up 0.60% to this level while the NASDAQ climbed 0.55%. The US futures for the S&P 500 also added 0.6%, and futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.6%
U.S. stocks traded higher following the market opening on Monday, with the Dow Jones index showing a significant gain.
The Chicago Fed Activity Index fell in August, which may have contributed to the surge in stock prices.
Jamieson Greer, U.S. Trade Representative, stated that 'that's probably the right kind of range' for a three-to six-month extension of the trade truce with China, though it is unlikely to be announced this week.
