Dow Rises as Investors Await Warsh Speech, Tech Stocks Pull Back

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 85 points on Friday as investors waited for Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh's speech at the annual Jackson Hole symposium.

Technology and semiconductor stocks were weaker in trading, following a strong advance on Thursday after Nvidia's latest earnings report.

Marvell Technology shares fell 7.17% after investors raised concerns about the timing of revenue from its AI chip agreement with Alphabet's Google.

GAP shares climbed 18.8% in trading after the retailer appointed Michael Francis as CEO of Old Navy and raised its annual profit forecast.
