Dow Tumbles Over 100 Points Amid Mixed Economic Signals

The US stock market experienced a decline on Thursday, with the Dow Jones index falling over 100 points. The Dow traded at 51,385.69, down 0.24%, while the NASDAQ dipped 0.63% to 26,766.06.

The S&P 500 also saw a decrease of 0.38% to 7,676.54. In contrast, communication services shares rose by 0.8%. Information technology stocks dropped by 1%, however.

On the economic front, US initial jobless claims fell to 197,000 in the second week of September, beating market estimates of 201,000.
