Dow's Near-Record Highs Hide Dividend Yield Slumps in Top Stocks
The Dow Jones Industrial Average has been trading near record highs, but this surge in value has had an unintended consequence, it's lowered the dividend yield of some key components since the start of the year.
Despite this, there are still five stocks within the index that offer a dividend yield of 2.9% or more, making them attractive to investors looking for higher returns.
The top three performers in terms of dividend yield are Verizon Communications (NYSE:VZ) with a yield of 5.66%, Nike Inc (NYSE:NKE) with 4.20%, and Chevron Corporation (NYSE:CVX) with 3.45%.
Procter & Gamble (NYSE:PG) and International Business Machines (NYSE:IBM) round out the list, offering yields of 3.00% and 2.89% respectively.
