Dr. Reddy's Seizes $1.6 Billion Market with First-to-Market Generic Sugammadex Launch
Dr. Reddy's Laboratories has launched its generic version of Sugammadex Injection in the US, targeting Merck's $1.6 billion Bridion franchise.
This launch marks a strategic counterweight to mitigate Dr. Reddy's recent 35% YoY slide in US revenues, which fell to ₹2,205 crore due to lenalidomide patent erosion and quality-related supply halts of semaglutide.
The company's vertically integrated global manufacturing gives it a cost advantage over later generic entrants, allowing Dr. Reddy's to secure major hospital group purchasing contracts in the near term.
