Dubai Offers 10-Year Golden Visa to Top Educators
Dubai is offering a 10-year Golden Visa to outstanding educators in its private education sector, marking World Teachers’ Day on October 5. The initiative, launched under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has already received over 835 applications since its inception on October 5, 2024.
The Golden Visa is open to school principals, early childhood centre (ECC) managers, academic heads of higher education institutions, teachers, and senior administrative leaders. To qualify, applicants must meet specific criteria set by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA). For example, academic heads must hold an advanced degree and provide evidence of research contributions, while principals must demonstrate improved school ratings and student outcomes.
Teachers and faculty from higher education institutions must also meet professional excellence standards, including nominations from their institution’s board of governors and evidence of student success. All applicants must submit required documents, such as CVs, award certificates, and testimonials, in a specified format. The application window for nominations opens from mid-October to mid-December annually.
Once nominated, applications undergo a review process involving internal committees and KHDA coordination. Approved candidates will be directed to the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) to complete the Golden Visa process. The visa is valid for 10 years and renewable if eligibility criteria are maintained.
