Dubai's Global Village Overtakes Disney's Magic Kingdom in Attendance

Dubai's Global Village has dethroned Disney's Magic Kingdom as the world's most-visited theme park, according to Fortune. Global Village attracted 10 million visitors in just 202 days, with an average attendance of 49,505 per day.

Global Village's success can be attributed to its unique blend of cultural attractions and thrilling rides. The park is divided into two sections: country pavilions and thrill rides. Visitors can explore pavilions representing different countries, enjoy traditional cuisine, and experience local entertainment.

The park's attendance has been impressive, with over 100 million visitors in the past three decades. In 2024, Global Village broke its own record, attracting 10.5 million visitors. Despite being open for only about half as many days as Disney's Magic Kingdom, Global Village still attracts more visitors per hour.

The TEA (Themed Entertainment Association) has been tracking theme park attendance since 2006. However, Global Village is not included in their official rankings due to its seasonal nature and pay-as-you-go rides. The TEA considers it a 'multi-cultural festival/fairground' rather than a traditional theme park.
