Duo Launch Pushes Apple Toward Premium Devices
Apple has launched its new iPhone lineup, including the foldable iPhone Duo, which starts at $1,999 for 256GB and goes on sale October 23. The Duo features a 7.6-inch inner display, the A20 Pro chip, and multitasking capabilities optimized for the larger screen.
The absence of the base iPhone 18 model this fall will push Apple's sales mix further toward premium devices. The $1,199 Pro and $1,299 Pro Max are now the main next-generation iPhones for the Holiday Quarter.
The Duo's high price is competitive within the premium foldable market, but its pricing power remains to be seen. If it reaches meaningful scale, the Duo could contribute significantly to iPhone revenue, despite its high price point.
