Egypt, Chevron Seek to Expedite Agreements for Cyprus Gas Field

Egypt's Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi has met with Chevron executives to expedite agreements linking Cyprus' Aphrodite gas field to Egyptian infrastructure.

The talks, held via videoconference, also covered Chevron's plans to expand exploration in Egypt, including opportunities in the Western Mediterranean.

Badawi emphasized the need for closer coordination among parties to finalize the project's technical, financial, and commercial frameworks, as well as its timetable.

The Egyptian ministry is working to support international companies' exploration investments, with a goal of increasing drilling, delivering discoveries, and raising domestic gas output.
