Shivon Zilis is a Canadian native and economist who has been making headlines as the ex-partner of Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX. Born on February 8, 1986, in Ontario, Canada, Shivon studied economics and philosophy at Yale University, where she also played ice hockey and fencing.

Zilis's career spans various roles, including working at IBM, Bloomberg, and OpenAI, a company co-founded by Elon Musk. In 2017, she joined Neuralink, another company founded by Musk, focusing on developing brain microchips to solve neurological issues.

The couple had an age-gap romance with Musk being 15 years older than Zilis. They secretly welcomed twins Strider and Azure in November 2021, followed by daughter Arcadia in February 2024, and son Seldon in 2025. However, their relationship came to an abrupt end when Musk broke up with Zilis in late September 2026.

Zilis shared a statement announcing the breakup, expressing her gratitude for the children and hoping that she and Musk could remain great friends and co-parents.
