Entergy Sues to Block Release of Financial Details in Google Data Center Project
Entergy Arkansas has filed a federal lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas to prevent further release of financial information related to Google's West Memphis data center project.
The company claims that confidential documents, including those tied to the Arkansas Cypress Solar and Battery project in Jefferson County, were mistakenly released by the Arkansas Public Service Commission through a public-records request.
The disputed documents contain figures for Google's planned contribution of $526 million toward Arkansas Cypress, as well as another $190 million for transmission-system improvements associated with the West Memphis facility. Entergy alleges that these portions of the released material qualify as protected trade secrets and is seeking temporary, preliminary, and permanent injunctive relief under the federal Defend Trade Secrets Act.
