Eric Turner, 79, Passes Away After Long Service as Peoria City Councilman

Eric Turner, a longtime Peoria City Councilman, has passed away at the age of 79. Turner died on Saturday in Las Vegas after serving 24 years as an at-large council member. He won election to five terms and retired from the council in May 2019.

During his tenure, Turner served as the city's Liquor Commissioner for many years and was known for organizing the annual Memorial Day service at the Gateway Building. A Vietnam War veteran, Turner also worked for Caterpillar Inc. for 41 years before retiring.

After retirement, Turner and his wife moved to Las Vegas, where he passed away. Memorial arrangements are pending.
