Ethiopian Airlines Buys 10 Boeing Cargo Planes, Options for Eight More

Ethiopian Airlines has signed a deal to purchase 10 Boeing cargo planes, with an option for eight more. The airline's CEO, Mesfin Tasew, confirmed that the aircraft are comprised of eight Boeing 777-8Fs and two 777Fs.

The catalogue price for these aircraft is estimated at $5 billion, but the actual price agreed upon is confidential, according to Mesfin Tasew.

This new addition will bolster Ethiopian Airlines' existing fleet, which includes 12 777F cargo planes, three Boeing 767 freighters, and four converted 737s on medium-haul routes. The airline operates more than 140 jets in total.
