The new aircraft will increase capacity and operational flexibility, supporting the airline's strategy to grow its freight business and meet demand for air cargo services.

The Boeing 777-8F is part of the 777X family, combining updated technology with fuel efficiency and extended range. It has a maximum structural payload of 118 tonnes and offers comparable payload and range capabilities as current freighters.

Ethiopian Airlines operates over 70 cargo routes and currently has 12 Boeing 777F freighters in its fleet. The additional aircraft will expand capacity across the network, giving the airline greater flexibility as demand for international air freight grows.
