Ethiopian Airlines Set to Sign Deal for 10 Cargo Aircraft with Boeing

Ethiopian Airlines is set to sign an agreement with Boeing on Wednesday to purchase 10 cargo aircraft. The deal will include two current-generation Boeing 777F freighters, which are expected to help bridge the gap until the new 777-8F freighter model becomes available.

The remainder of the order is expected to consist of 777-8F aircraft. This development comes after industry sources revealed in September that Ethiopian Airlines was nearing a contract to purchase up to 10 long-haul Boeing cargo aircraft.

Ethiopian Airlines is also involved in a significant airport construction project, which officials describe as Africa's future largest airport. The first phase of the $12.5 billion project is scheduled to open in 2030.
