EVA Air Deploys Virtual Flight Deck for Boeing 787 Pilot Training

EVA Air has selected Acron Aviation's Virtual Flight Deck (VFD) for its Boeing 787 fleet, a move that will support the airline's transition to competency-based training and assessment. The VFD is designed to provide a flexible and cost-effective way to strengthen aircraft familiarisation and procedural training.

The technology will enable pilots and maintenance technicians to operate every panel, control, indicator, and display at their own pace, allowing them to explore aircraft systems, practice procedures, and repeat non-normal and emergency scenarios in a readily accessible environment.

David Coward, President of Acron Aviation Commercial Training Solutions (CTS), said, 'The Virtual Flight Deck is an important part of an integrated pilot training ecosystem. It gives pilots a cost-effective and accessible way to become familiar with the aircraft, build procedural confidence, and arrive at higher-level training better prepared.'
