Excel Cells Now Support Multiple Values: A Game-Changer for Spreadsheets

Microsoft Excel has introduced a significant update to its cell architecture, allowing users to add multiple values into one single cell. This change enables lists and arrays within cells, as well as nested arrays, which will be supported in beta for Windows and Mac users.

The update means that users can now keep values separate while still being in one cell, allowing for filtering, calculation, and other functions to work as expected. Comma-separated text, like lists, can be inserted into a single cell, denoting each item as a separate value.

Excel Senior Product Manager Jake Armstrong explained the new features: 'You can keep those values in one cell, while also keeping them separate for filtering, calculation and more.'
