FAA Probes Boeing 737 MAX Software Glitch on Landing Guidance
Boeing is facing another setback as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) launches an investigation into a software glitch affecting landing guidance on its 737 MAX 8 and 9 aircraft.
The issue arises when a plane is forced to abandon a landing and perform a missed approach, causing the software to malfunction and potentially leading to additional steps to correct the error.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Boeing identified the problem in November 2024 but did not inform airlines at that time as it was not deemed a safety issue.
The FAA will convene a Corrective Action Review Board to investigate the matter and take immediate action if a safety concern is identified.
