FAA to Review Software Issue with Boeing 737 MAX Planes This Week
The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is set to convene a safety review on Friday of a software issue that could prevent pilots of Boeing's 737 MAX airplanes from accessing automated flight guidance during one landing scenario.
According to Reuters, the FAA will hold a Corrective Action Review Board meeting to analyze the issue. Airline officials stated that they do not believe the board will determine the issue poses a safety concern.
The FAA delayed certification of the 737 MAX 10 until it completed its analysis. Officials said if the board clears the plane, the MAX 10 could be certified later this month.
