FIP Demands Probe into Boeing 787 Electrical System Evidence Following Air India Crash

The Federation of Indian Pilots (FIP) has requested the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the electrical system evidence related to Boeing 787 planes, following the crash of an Air India aircraft in June last year.

The crash, which killed 241 people onboard and 19 on the ground, occurred during the initial climb after takeoff from Ahmedabad. The pilots' body has written a letter to AAIB, stating that a detailed examination of all electrical and electronically controlled systems is necessary due to concerns regarding their reliability.

The FIP also cited a report by the Foundation for Aviation Safety (FAS), which stated that it had obtained 'hundreds of official non-public documents' about the aircraft involved in the crash. These documents allegedly detail chronic, systemic failures involving the electrical, electronic, and/or flight computer systems.
