The Federation of Indian Pilots (FIP) has called for a comprehensive evaluation of technical evidence in the ongoing investigation into the Air India AI-171 Boeing 787 crash. The association, led by President Capt. CS Randhawa, urged the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) to examine all available technical information to strengthen aviation safety.

The FIP pointed out that the Boeing 787's 'More Electric Aircraft' architecture makes electrical generation and distribution systems central to safe operation. The pilots' body argued that recurring technical faults, intermittent failures, power interruptions, software resets, sensor discrepancies, and maintenance troubleshooting records could provide important clues to accident causation.

The FIP requested a detailed review of historical maintenance and reliability data, including technical log entries, deferred defects, repetitive fault reports, and component replacements. They also sought closer examination of electrical power generation and distribution systems, Integrated Modular Avionics, flight management and flight-control computers, battery systems, power-control units, and aircraft data networks.
