Fitzpatrick Out, Jets' Interception Drought Continues Against Packers

The New York Jets are facing an unprecedented drought of interceptions, having gone 18 straight games without one. To make matters worse, their most accomplished interceptor, Minkah Fitzpatrick, has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers due to a groin injury.

Fitzpatrick was acquired in the offseason and was expected to bring leadership and playmaking ability to the team's secondary. However, he hasn't practiced this week and is likely to miss at least another game. In his place, Andre Cisco will start against the Packers, who passed for 387 yards and two touchdowns in their Week 1 loss.

Cisco has a wealth of experience, having played 55 career games and eight seasons with the Jets. However, he lost his job in training camp to Dane Belton, but will now form a tandem with him in the secondary. Coach Aaron Glenn praised Belton's versatility, saying 'he can play multiple spots in the secondary, plus special teams.'
