Ford Lends His Likeness to New Indy Animatronic
Harrison Ford has lent his likeness to Disney's new Indiana Jones animatronic figure at Walt Disney World, marking the first time his face has been used in a Disney attraction.
The actor, 84, revealed that he personally modeled for the figure during an appearance at D23 on August 15. 'I'm the actual model,' he said in a prerecorded message.
The Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent ride will be built on the existing infrastructure from the former Dinosaur attraction, which closed in February 1998. The new ride is set to open in Animal Kingdom's Tropical Americas section in 2027, with a phased rollout that could stretch into Spring 2028.
The ride will feature an animatronic of Ford as Indiana Jones exploring an ancient temple, accompanied by creatures like bats and scorpions.
