Ford's Footprints: Harrison Indy Coming to Walt Disney World
Harrison Ford's iconic character Indiana Jones is coming to Walt Disney World in Florida. The new attraction, 'Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent,' will be part of the Tropical Americas section of Disney's Animal Kingdom. This marks a departure from previous Indiana Jones theme park attractions at Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, where Ford's likeness was not used.
The new story takes place in the 1950s, before the events of 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.' Guests will join Indiana Jones on a quest for a mysterious artifact in South America, only to find themselves plunged into the underworld. There, they'll encounter a massive feathered snake.
The attraction will feature ride vehicles and track layout similar to the Indiana Jones Adventure at Disneyland. The new story is an original one, created specifically for this attraction. It's part of a larger expansion of Disney's Animal Kingdom, which also includes an 'Encanto'-themed dark ride and a carousel featuring iconic animal characters.
