Franklin's Innovation Center Takes Flight

Williamson County Schools has launched an innovation center for high schoolers in Franklin, Tennessee. The center is designed to give students hands-on experience in various career fields alongside industry professionals.

The program features five pillars: advanced power and machinery, aviation, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, fire management, and hospitality, tourism, and culinary arts. Over 400 students are participating in the program's first year.

One of the largest high school aviation programs in Tennessee, with over 200 students enrolled, allows students to work alongside Southwest Airlines pilots throughout the school year.

Students at the Innovation Center learn on state-of-the-art equipment, including Alienware technology. Industry partners such as Southwest Airlines and Thompson Caterpillar provide real-life training for students.
