Free Up Google Pixel 10 Storage by Disabling AICore
The Google Pixel 10's 128 GB storage capacity may suffice for most users, but those who frequently capture photos, videos, or hoard apps may eventually face storage constraints. A simple trick to free up significant space involves disabling the AICore service in the Settings app, which manages the Gemini Nano AI agent and handles various AI features locally. Disabling AICore can reclaim between 6 to 8 GB of storage, though it cannot be deleted entirely.
To disable AICore, navigate to Settings > Apps > Show all apps, locate AICore, and select Disable. Additionally, uninstall updates to clear all app data and free up storage. AICore is responsible for managing AI tasks like advanced proofreading, smart replies, scam detection, and Pixel-exclusive features such as Pixel Screenshots and Magic Compose. Disabling it will render these features inoperable, though some apps like Recorder and Journal will still function without advanced AI tools.
If disabling AICore isn't enough, other methods to free up storage include uninstalling unused apps, clearing cached data, especially for media-heavy apps like Google Chrome, and utilizing cloud storage to delete backed-up data from the device. These steps can help Pixel 10 users manage storage more effectively.
