From Cold Calls to CEO: Seamus Ruiz-Earle's Unlikely Rise
At just 17 years old, Seamus Ruiz-Earle cold-called two dozen investment banks across San Francisco after hearing an investment banker speak at his high school. Every one of them turned him down on the grounds of his age. However, Prager & Co. did offer him a job - albeit not client-facing - to set up its Salesforce CRM. This role became a career for Ruiz-Earle.
He rose through the ranks at Salesforce and, at 18, became the youngest known Trailhead Ranger and Trailblazer in history. After graduating from Boston College with dual degrees in History and Economics, he started Carabiner Group from his childhood bedroom during the COVID-19 pandemic. The firm pioneered and trademarked the RevOps-as-a-Service model, which was a response to companies' lack of revenue operations expertise.
Carabiner Group eventually reached $7 million in annual revenue by 2022, with clients including KPMG and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. Ruiz-Earle's achievements did not go unnoticed - he was named to Forbes' 30 Under 30 list in Enterprise Technology at just 23 years old.
In May 2024, SBI acquired Carabiner Group for a high seven-figure transaction. Ruiz-Earle stayed on as Managing Director of Revenue Operations and Technology, leading the division that formerly was Carabiner Group.
